About Wey House Nursing Home
Wey House Nursing Home provides nursing care in Taunton for older people and younger adults. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss, and we also work with people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Planned respite stays are available as well as longer term places. Having qualified nurses on site at all hours means health needs can be watched and managed as they change rather than dealt with as emergencies, and it means we can support people whose needs are complex enough that many settings would turn them away. Clinical care is only part of what we do. The people here are adults with preferences, friendships and plans, and a nursing home should not flatten any of that. We support people to decide how their own day goes, to keep in touch with the people who matter to them, and to take part in things beyond these walls. Where somebody communicates in their own way, we learn it. Where somebody finds change difficult, we work at their pace. Where somebody has been let down before, we accept that trust takes a while to build. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and families what they think of us, and we act on it.
