About Dunkirk Memorial House
Here at Dunkirk Memorial House, we are a nursing home based in Taunton, Somerset, and we are proud to provide a genuinely caring environment for the people who live with us. We support older adults with a range of needs, including those living with dementia and people who require skilled nursing care. Our team works closely with residents and their families to make sure that care is tailored to each individual, respecting their preferences, routines and life history. We believe that getting to know someone properly is the foundation of everything we do. Dementia care is an area we take particularly seriously. We understand how much it matters to families that their loved ones feel safe, recognised and at ease, and we work hard to create an atmosphere where residents can feel settled and understood rather than anxious or confused. Our nursing team is on hand around the clock, bringing clinical knowledge together with genuine warmth. We think it is important that people receive attentive, skilled care without ever feeling like they are simply going through a process. Every person who lives here has a story, and we try to honour that in the way we care for them each day. We are very pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of Outstanding. That recognition means a great deal to us, though what matters most is what our residents and their families tell us about their experience day to day. If you are considering Dunkirk Memorial House for yourself or someone you care about, we would warmly encourage you to come and visit us. Taunton is our home, and we are genuinely glad to be part of this community. We would love to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
