About The Mount & Severn View
The Mount and Severn View is a nursing home in Shrewsbury caring for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Qualified nurses are on duty at every hour of the day and night. Nursing on the premises means health needs are attended to as they arise rather than waiting on visits from elsewhere, and it means our nurses and carers work as one team. What somebody likes, what unsettles them and how they want their day to run counts alongside the clinical detail. We plan for each person individually. Some need nursing support delivered precisely and reliably; others mainly need comfort, good food and help keeping in touch with the people who matter to them. For people living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried and use what families tell us about a person's life. Where physical disability is part of the picture we pay close attention to comfort, equipment and moving about safely. Meals are cooked on the premises and adapted where swallowing or appetite is a difficulty. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour and we give them a straight account of how somebody is. Short stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring if you would like to arrange a visit.
