About Ann Charlton Lodge
Ann Charlton Lodge is a nursing home in Redcar. We care for older people and for younger adults whose health needs mean that qualified nurses should be on hand at any hour, including people with physical disabilities. Nursing care asks for two things at once. It asks for clinical attention, so medication, pain relief, skin care, nutrition and mobility are managed closely and recorded properly. It also asks for ordinary kindness at times when people feel unwell, frightened or simply tired of being a patient. We try to hold both together, and the second is usually what families notice most. Care is planned with residents and their relatives rather than handed to them. Meals, sleep, privacy, company and the rhythm of the day are part of that plan, and the small preferences are written down so that care does not depend on who happens to be on shift. We work closely with GPs, community teams, therapists and hospital specialists so that treatment is prompt. Respite stays are available for families needing a planned break and for people who require nursing support for a short period. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us and come to see the home, meet the team and ask whatever you need to know.
