About Seccombe Court
Seccombe Court is a nursing home near Banbury in Oxfordshire. We care for older people whose health needs go beyond residential care, for younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing, and for people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available as well. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours. Medication is managed closely, wound care, catheter care and conditions that vary from week to week are handled on site, and a change in a resident's health tends to be noticed early because the person noticing knows them well. We work with GPs, district nurses, therapists and hospital teams, and we press on a resident's behalf when something is slow in coming. Dementia care sits alongside the clinical side of our work and cannot really be separated from it. Somebody in pain or frightened who cannot say so will show us in other ways, and reading that properly depends on knowing the person. So we ask families about working lives, music, food and old habits, and we keep the day calm and familiar rather than busy and full of surprises. For residents with physical disabilities the emphasis is on equipment that fits, transfers handled safely and without indignity, and as much independence as somebody wants to keep. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Ring us if you would like to look round on an ordinary working day.
