About Tuxford Manor Care Home
Tuxford Manor Care Home is a nursing home near Newark, Nottinghamshire, offering both residential and nursing care. We support older people and younger adults, including residents living with dementia, residents with mental health needs and residents with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays for shorter periods. Having qualified nurses alongside our care staff means a resident whose health becomes more complex does not have to move on elsewhere. We work closely with doctors, district nurses, mental health colleagues and therapists when someone's condition changes, and clinical care is given with the same regard for dignity and privacy as every other part of the day. Because our residents differ so widely, we plan support one person at a time. We ask about history, family, work, faith and food, and we build the day from those answers rather than from the rota. Dementia care asks for familiarity and reassurance rather than correction, so we keep the day predictable and explain changes in advance. Mental health needs ask for patience and for noticing a change early. For residents with physical disabilities we pay close attention to mobility and to what makes independence possible. Families are welcome and we would far rather hear a concern early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
