About Oak Farm Bungalow

We provide nursing care at a bungalow near Norwich for younger adults whose needs require qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Being small and on one level is not incidental to how we work. It means somebody can move about their own home rather than being moved about in it, and it means staff know everybody properly rather than by shift handover. Nursing needs are managed as they should be, with registered nurses on duty for medication, pain, continence, skin care and the difficulties people have with eating, drinking and moving, and with changes picked up early rather than late. What we try to protect alongside that is an ordinary life. People here decide when they get up, what they wear, what they eat, what is on and who they want around. For younger adults in particular, being supported should not mean giving up having a say in the day, and we work at keeping people connected to family, friends and whatever they want to do outside the house. We work closely with general practitioners, community teams and therapists and keep families properly informed. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
