About Walton House Nursing Home
Walton House is a nursing home in Preston providing nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults whose health needs require a registered nurse on hand at any hour of the day or night. The people we care for often arrive with several conditions at once, sometimes after a long stay in hospital, and the first weeks are usually about getting comfortable, eating properly and sleeping again. Our nursing team manages wound care, medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that problems are dealt with before they become serious. We also take the view that a nursing home should not feel like a ward. People have their own rooms with their own belongings, visitors come and go, meals are cooked here and there is company in the day for anybody who wants it. Where somebody is very unwell, we concentrate on comfort, dignity and making sure families have the time and the information they need. Respite and short stays can be arranged where somebody needs nursing care for a limited period. If you are looking at nursing homes in Preston for a relative, please telephone us. We will tell you plainly whether we can meet the need.
