About Bridgeway Care Home
Bridgeway Care Home is a nursing home in Preston. We care for older people who need nursing support, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. Respite stays are available too. Registered nurses are on site around the clock, which means clinical needs are met here rather than through repeated trips to hospital. Wound care, catheters, diabetes, pain relief and the gradual changes that come with frailty are handled by people who know the person. Combining nursing care with support for people who have a learning disability or who are autistic takes particular attention. Health needs in this group are too often missed or put down to something else, and we try hard not to let that happen. We learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to gloss over that. We know which areas were identified, work is in hand, and we would rather discuss it openly with anyone considering Bridgeway than have it come as a surprise. Please visit, ask us direct questions and see the home as it actually is.
