About Ribble Court Care Home
We are a nursing home in Preston, caring for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing support, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and those affected by sight or hearing loss. Nurses are on duty here at every hour, and that changes what we are able to offer. Health needs are reviewed continually rather than only when something goes wrong, medicines are handled carefully, and we work with GPs, district nurses and therapy teams so that treatment can happen here whenever that is better for the person than a trip to hospital. It also means that as somebody's needs grow, they can usually stay with us rather than face another move. We put a great deal of thought into dementia care. Surroundings are kept calm and easy to make sense of, our team learn each person's history and habits, and we look for the cause behind distress instead of simply responding to how it appears. Families know their relative far better than we ever will, and we rely on what they tell us. Respite stays are available for people recovering after illness or hospital treatment and for family carers who need a proper break. We plan short stays as thoroughly as permanent ones.
