About Moor Park House
Moor Park House is a nursing home in Preston, Lancashire. Qualified nurses are on duty here at all hours, and that is what allows us to support people whose needs a residential home could not safely meet. We care for older adults needing nursing care, for adults with a physical disability who need daily help with moving, positioning and comfort, and for people with a learning disability and autistic people whose health needs require nursing. Many of the people here are younger adults, and respite admissions are available alongside permanent places. That combination of learning disability and nursing need is one a good many homes find difficult to hold, and it is often why families find us. Where somebody takes in information differently, we slow down, explain before we act, and check rather than assume, and we do not let the clinical side of the work become an excuse for talking over a person's head. The nursing is thorough and unhurried. Medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care, and eating and drinking well. The harder part is noticing early when somebody is not themselves, and that rests on continuity of staff. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to visit without an appointment and see the home on a normal day.
