About Milverton Nursing Home
We are Milverton Nursing Home in Surbiton, in the borough of Kingston upon Thames. We provide nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we take respite admissions alongside permanent residents. Nursing cover runs through the day and the night here, which allows us to care for people whose health needs are significant or changeable, and to support people at the end of life without moving them somewhere unfamiliar. For residents living with dementia, we try to build the day around the person rather than expect them to fit our timetable, and when someone is distressed we look for what is causing it before anything else. For people with a physical disability the important things are practical. Enough time that nothing is rushed, equipment set up properly, and asking the person how a transfer is best managed rather than assuming. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We think it is better to say that plainly than to leave a family to find it later. We know what the inspection identified, we have a plan for addressing it, and we are willing to talk through both with anyone considering a place here.
