About 10-12 Hainsworth Park
We are Hainsworth Park, a nursing home in Hull. We provide nursing care for younger adults, including people living with a mental health condition, and we take respite admissions alongside permanent places. Nursing care for younger adults is a different job from nursing care in later life, and it is worth saying so. The people we support are not winding a life down. They have plans, relationships and things they want to do, and support that treats them as patients rather than as adults gets in the way of all of it. So we work from what the person is trying to achieve, and we keep as many decisions with them as we possibly can. Supporting somebody with a mental health condition alongside nursing needs asks for patience and consistency. Some weeks go better than others, and what makes a placement work is that a person is not treated as a problem on the harder days. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather say that plainly than leave a family to find it elsewhere. We know what the inspection identified, work is in hand on it, and we are willing to go through the detail with anyone considering a place here.
