About Ebor Lodge

Ebor Lodge in Hull provides nursing care for adults, with qualified nurses on duty at all times. Much of our work is with younger adults and with people who have mental health needs alongside physical health conditions that need nursing rather than residential care. We also offer respite stays. Doing this well means holding two things together. The clinical side has to be dependable, so we pay close attention to medicines, mobility, nutrition, skin and pain, and we work closely with GPs, community mental health teams and other specialists rather than in isolation. At the same time, somebody in their forties who needs nursing is not waiting out an illness, they are living a life, and the home has to leave room for that. So people here keep their own routines and belongings, choose how and where to spend the day, and are supported to keep up the relationships and interests that matter to them. Where a person is able to take part in decisions about their own care, they do, and where that becomes harder we involve the people they trust. Consistency and clear expectations help more than reassurance, particularly for people with long standing mental health needs, and we aim to be steady rather than unpredictable. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and anyone considering the home is welcome to visit and ask us anything.
