About Hazelmere Nursing Home
We are Hazelmere, a nursing home in Bexhill on Sea caring for older people. Having qualified nurses on duty at every hour changes what we are able to offer. Wounds, catheters, complex medication and changing conditions are managed here rather than becoming reasons for somebody to be moved on. Health problems are picked up early by staff who know the person, and families are not left wondering what cover exists once the office has closed. The nursing side matters, but it is not what the place is for. People live here, and we work at making that a decent life. Rooms are personalised, people get up and settle at night when they choose, and meals are something to look forward to. Our staff take the time to learn who somebody was before they needed care, which is what makes the difference between being looked after and being managed. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come, and we keep them informed rather than waiting to be asked. If we are worried about something, we ring early rather than leaving it until a review. We offer respite stays as well as permanent places, which suits families needing a break and people regaining their strength after a spell in hospital. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
