About Gardens Care Home
Purley Gardens is a nursing home in Purley, in the London borough of Croydon. We care for older people who need registered nursing as well as help with daily life, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also support younger adults whose health needs call for nursing care. Nurses are on duty here at every hour, and that is what allows us to look after people with genuinely complex needs. It covers medication, skin and pressure care, continence, nutrition and the kind of steady observation that catches a problem while it is still small. Where somebody is approaching the end of their life, it means they can stay somewhere familiar, with people who know them. None of that is much use on its own, though. A nursing home slips easily into a routine where everything is done to people and nothing is chosen by them. Residents here decide when they get up, what they eat, whether they join in and who comes to see them. For people whose sight or hearing has gone, we adapt how we communicate rather than letting them drift out of the conversation. Respite and short stays are available, including recovery after hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to come and see Purley Gardens.
