About Asher Nursing Home
Asher Nursing Home in Hove provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including people living with mental health conditions. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work with GPs and community specialists so that problems are dealt with early rather than becoming emergencies. Where somebody is living with a mental health condition, the most useful things we offer are consistency and patience. The staff are familiar, the days are predictable, and we work closely with the mental health professionals involved so that the approach does not change from one month to the next. We also want the home to feel like a home. People have their own rooms with their own belongings, meals are cooked here with a genuine choice, visitors are welcome and staff are expected to have time to sit and talk rather than only to carry out tasks. Respite and short stays can sometimes be arranged. If you are looking at nursing homes in Brighton and Hove, please telephone us and arrange to come and see the place for yourself.
