About West
We are a home care provider covering the west of Wolverhampton, supporting people in their own homes across the city. We work with older people and people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who need support to manage at home. Most people would far rather stay where they are, among their own things and their own neighbours, and our job is to make that workable for as long as it sensibly can be. Depending on what somebody needs, that might be a short call each morning or a substantial package built around several visits a day. We help with personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out and about, and wherever a person can still manage something we support them to keep doing it. The things that decide whether home care works are unglamorous. Arriving when we said we would. Staying the agreed time rather than rushing off. Sending a face the person recognises. Noticing that somebody has eaten less this week than last. We plan our rounds so those things are realistic rather than promised and missed. Nothing begins until we have visited and talked it through properly, with family involved where that is wanted, and we revise the plan as needs change. We work alongside district nurses, GPs and social workers. Please ring us if you are looking into care at home.
