About Nugent Community Choices
We provide support at home across Wigan and St Helens, working with older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities, people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Our work is about helping people live in their own homes and run their own lives as far as they are able to. In practice that means the unglamorous things that make independence real: managing a tenancy, dealing with letters and bills, handling money, shopping and cooking, keeping appointments, getting to work, college or wherever a person wants to spend their time, and having staff alongside when something feels beyond facing alone. For older people it more often means help with daily life so that somebody can stay in the house they know. We ask what a person wants their life to look like before we suggest anything, and we try to keep the same staff working with the same people, because trust is slow to build and quickly undone. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We prefer to say so ourselves. We are working through the points the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering us. If you are looking for support of this kind, please get in touch and we will be honest about what we can offer.
