About Parkhaven@Home
Parkhaven@Home provides care at home for older people in Sefton and the surrounding parts of Liverpool, including people living with dementia. We do a small number of things and we try to do them properly. Our visits can be a short call in the morning to help somebody wash, dress and start the day safely, support and prompting with medication, a proper meal cooked and eaten rather than left in the fridge, laundry and keeping the home comfortable, or help with the shopping. Where more is needed we visit several times a day, and we can call in the evening to settle somebody for the night. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the work. We send the same care workers to the same homes at roughly the same time wherever the rota allows, follow the routine the household already has and avoid moving things about in a house somebody knows by heart. A familiar voice at the door takes a good deal of anxiety out of a visit before it has even started, and a care worker who knows a person notices when something has changed. Care is arranged after a proper conversation with the person and, where they want it, their family, and reviewed as things change. Please ring us if you would like to talk it through.
