About Choice Supported Living - West Midlands
We are Choice Supported Living in the West Midlands, based in Oldbury and supporting people in their own homes across the area. We work with older people, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition or an eating disorder, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who want to live in their own place with the right backing. Much of our work is about enabling rather than doing. Where somebody wants to cook for themselves, manage their own money, keep a tenancy going, use public transport or hold down a job or a course, we work at it with them patiently and at their pace. We do not decide in advance what is beyond anybody, and we do not treat a difficult stretch as proof that something was unrealistic. Where practical help is needed with personal care, medication or the running of a household, we provide it without making a person feel their life has been taken over. Communication is the foundation of the work. We learn how each person tells us what they want, in whatever form that takes, and we make sure every worker understands it before supporting that person alone. We work closely with families, social workers, community teams and GPs. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to discuss support.
