About Cheshire Care Services
Cheshire Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Oldbury and across the Sandwell area. We work with older people, younger adults, people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities. Home care is only worth having if it fits the person. We visit first, without charge and without obligation, and we talk about how the day actually goes now, what has become difficult and what somebody wants to carry on doing themselves. The plan comes out of that conversation, agreed with the person and with family or an advocate if they want them there. We keep the team around each household small. Being helped by somebody who already knows you is not a luxury, particularly for autistic people and for anybody who finds new faces difficult, so we introduce staff properly and avoid changes at short notice wherever we can. Support covers personal care, medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping, getting out to appointments, work, college or something sociable, and company. Where somebody has a physical disability we look closely at equipment, transfers and how the home is set up, and we make sure the people visiting are trained for it. If something is not right we would much rather hear about it early than have it build up. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support.
