About Housing 21 - Springhill Court
Housing 21 at Springhill Court provides care and support to people in their own homes in York. Our residents have their own front doors and their own tenancies, and our job is to provide the support that makes independent living workable rather than to take it over. We support older people who need help with daily routines, and people living with dementia, for whom consistency and familiar faces matter more than anything else. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we support younger adults who want help arranged around their own plans. We also support people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs, and we do that without judgement and to a plan agreed with the person. Support might be help with personal care or medication, a hand with cooking, cleaning, shopping or money, or practical assistance to get out to appointments and the things somebody enjoys. Quite often the aim is for our involvement to reduce over time, and we count that as the job going well. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
