We are Magnolious Care, a home care agency supporting adults in their own homes in Wellingborough and across North Northamptonshire. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Our belief is that home is usually the best place to be cared for, provided the support is right. Getting it right means paying attention to detail: knowing how someone takes their tea, which stair they struggle with, which medicines matter most, what time they like to be up, and who to ring if something seems wrong. We write all of that down and we expect our carers to know it before they visit. Support ranges from a single daily call through to several visits a day, and it can include personal care, help with medication, meals, shopping, laundry, mobility and simply company. We also provide cover for family carers who need a rest, which is often the difference between a family managing at home and not managing at all. We are a relatively small agency and we intend to grow carefully rather than quickly, because quality in care at home depends almost entirely on having enough of the right staff. We would rather say no to a package than accept one we cannot staff properly.
