About Brook House
Brook House is a home care agency based in Wellingborough, supporting people in their own homes across North Northamptonshire. We work with people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with a physical disability and people with visual or hearing impairment. Home care should fit into a life that already exists rather than rearrange it. We begin by asking how the day usually runs, what has become difficult and what somebody can still do perfectly well and would rather keep doing. Plans written that way tend to stick, and they make the support feel like help rather than intrusion. Our visits cover personal care, support with medication, meals, help around the house and getting out to appointments or into town. For people with a learning disability and for autistic adults, the work is often less about personal care and more about making an ordinary week workable. We learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech, and we adapt to them. Where sight or hearing is reduced, we keep things where people expect to find them. Continuity is where we put our effort. A familiar carer who knows the house, the routine and the person is worth more than any amount of paperwork. Please get in touch if you would like to talk through what we could offer.
