Triangular Care provides support at home to adults in Kettering and across North Northamptonshire. The people we work with include older people who need help to stay in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people living with an eating disorder and younger adults who need support to live independently. Supporting that range means there is no standard package. What an older person needs first thing in the morning has very little in common with what somebody managing an eating disorder needs, or with what an autistic adult running their own household wants from us. So we assess properly, agree the support with the person, and change it when their circumstances change. Some of the areas we work in carry real stigma, and people have often had more experience of being judged than helped. We try to be straightforward and useful instead. Staff are expected to be reliable, discreet and honest, and to remember that they are guests in somebody's home. The practical work covers personal care, support and prompting with medication, meals, household tasks, shopping and help to get out and about.
