New Dawn supports people in their own homes in Corby and the surrounding area. Every household needs something different, so we begin with a conversation rather than a package. We ask how somebody wants their day to run, what has become difficult and what they would still rather manage themselves, then agree support around that. It might be a call first thing for washing, dressing and breakfast, several visits across the day, help with medication, support to get out to appointments, or a longer visit that gives a family carer a genuine rest. Whatever we agree goes into plain writing and is revised when circumstances change rather than left in place out of habit. Where a person communicates differently, we learn how before we start. Getting that right at the beginning is usually the difference between support that helps and support that frustrates everybody involved. We keep the same carers with the same households wherever the rota allows, because familiarity makes personal care easier and regular staff notice early when somebody is unwell.
