Safe
Inspectors found systems were in place to protect people from abuse, and staff were trained in how to keep people safe. Risks to people's care were assessed and managed, and medicines were managed safely by staff. The provider checked that staff were suitable to work with people, and there were enough staff to care for people.
Effective
Inspectors found staff had the right training and support, including a detailed induction, regular training updates, one to one supervision and observations of their practice. This was an improvement since the last inspection, which found staff skills had not always been assessed. Staff asked for people's consent before care, supported them to attend healthcare appointments and helped them make healthy food choices.
Caring
Inspectors found staff treated people with kindness, dignity and respect, and spent time getting to know them. People were happy with the way staff provided their care and support. People were encouraged to make decisions about how their care was provided.
Responsive
Inspectors found people were listened to and their views were acted on. Care and support followed people's assessed needs and wishes, and people were involved in their assessments and care reviews. A complaints procedure was in place for people to raise complaints.
Well-led
At the time of the visit the service did not have a registered manager. The previous manager had left and the new manager was registering with CQC. Inspectors found an open culture, with feedback from people, relatives and staff used to improve the service, and quality checks covering all aspects of the service.

People were happy with the way staff provided their care and support. Inspectors received positive feedback about the management of the service from people, relatives and staff.
