About Kind Hands Caring Services
Kind Hands provides care at home for people living in Eastbourne and the surrounding parts of East Sussex. Our purpose is to make staying at home comfortable and safe, with support that fits into an existing life rather than reorganising it. We visit older people who need a hand with personal care, medication, meals, mobility or the everyday jobs that become harder before anything else does. We support people living with dementia, where familiar rooms and familiar faces do a great deal on their own. We also work with people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults who want support that keeps them independent. Everything starts with a proper conversation about how somebody likes their day to run and what they would rather manage themselves. We review support as needs change, keep families informed where that is wanted, and plan for continuity rather than leaving it to chance. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. If you are thinking about care at home in this part of East Sussex, please call us. We will come out, talk it through with the person who will actually receive the support, and give you a straight answer about what we can do.

What the inspectors found
A plain English summary of the Care Quality Commission inspection behind the current rating of Kind Hands Caring Services Ltd. Report published 26 June 2019.
Safe
Inspectors found that staff understood the risks for the people they supported. Risk assessments in support plans gave staff extra guidance to reduce risk. Staff knew what to do if they had concerns about harm, abuse or discrimination, and people were supported to get their medicines when they needed them. There were enough staff to give the support people needed at times of their choice, and recruitment checks meant only suitable staff worked at the service.
Effective
Inspectors found that staff had ongoing training and supervision, so they knew their roles and responsibilities. Staff had completed medicine training and had their competency assessed. Staff helped people to use healthcare services when needed. People were supported to have choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
Caring

Well-led
