About Teign Angels

Teign Angels provides care in people's own homes in Newton Abbot and across the surrounding part of Devon. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. What we do is shaped by what a household actually needs. For some people it is a single call each morning to get washed, dressed and started for the day. For others it is several visits, help with meals and medication, shopping, laundry and company. For families who have been carrying everything themselves, it can simply be a few reliable hours a week that let them rest or get on with their own lives. We keep the group of carers going into each home small and steady. Being helped with washing and dressing is only comfortable when the person doing it is familiar, and continuity is also what lets a carer notice that something has changed and raise it before it becomes serious. Devon is a spread out patch and we plan our rounds so that carers are not rushing between calls. If we cannot cover a particular time properly we would rather say so at the outset.
