Here at Step One, we are a home care agency based in Newton Abbot, Devon, and we are proud to support people across our local community to live as independently as possible in their own homes. We work with a wide range of people, including those living with learning disabilities and autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, and those managing alcohol or drug misuse. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. Every person we support has their own story, their own goals, and their own way of doing things, and we take the time to understand what matters most to each individual before we do anything else. Our team genuinely cares about the people they work with. That is not something we say lightly. We look for staff who are patient, thoughtful and consistent, because we know how important it is for people to feel comfortable and safe with the same familiar faces. Building real, trusting relationships is at the heart of everything we do. We are pleased to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the hard work of our whole team and the standards we hold ourselves to every day. We are always looking at how we can improve and listening to feedback from the people we support and their families.
