We are SQ Carers, working from Long Eaton and supporting adults in their own homes across the surrounding parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Our visits range from a single short call each day to several hours of support, and we build the pattern around the person rather than around a standard package. We help older people with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and keeping the household going. We support adults living with dementia, where the same familiar care workers arriving at predictable times do more good than anything else we can offer. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, and younger adults who want help to run their own home and to need us less as time goes on. Nothing begins without a visit and a proper conversation at home, with family or an advocate present if that is wanted. We agree what the calls are for, what must never be missed and what the person would rather manage alone, and we write it down and review it when circumstances change. Our care workers are recruited with full checks and references, trained before working unsupervised and properly supported afterwards.
