About Long Eaton

We are the Long Eaton care team, supporting people in their own homes across the town and the neighbouring parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, and people with a physical disability. Most people who contact us have reached a point where parts of the day have become hard work, but they are nowhere near wanting to leave home. That is the gap we work in. We look at what has actually become difficult, agree what would shift it, and leave the rest alone. Independence is not preserved by doing things for people who can still manage them. Visits cover personal care, support with medication, meals and drinks, help with the house and the shopping, and support to get out to appointments or into town. The pattern is agreed with the person, and with family where they want that, and revisited as circumstances change. We work hard to send the same carers to the same households. It matters for dignity, and it matters practically, because somebody familiar notices a change days before a stranger would. The Care Quality Commission has not yet published an overall rating for us. We are happy to answer questions about recruitment, training, supervision and how we handle concerns. Please call us if you would like to talk things through.
