About Cera
Cera provides home care to adults across the High Peak and the surrounding part of Derbyshire. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autism, people with physical disabilities, and people who have sight or hearing loss. Staying at home usually depends on a small number of practical things going right, so those are what we concentrate on. Help with washing and dressing, medicines taken as they should be, proper meals rather than whatever is easiest, the housework kept under control, the shopping done, and a reliable way of getting out to appointments and to see people. We fit visits around the person's day rather than around ours. Continuity is something we take seriously. Meeting an unfamiliar care worker at the door is unsettling for anybody and particularly so for somebody living with dementia, so we build a small team around each person and let you know in advance when that has to change. Across a rural and hilly area that takes planning, and we would rather be honest about what we can cover than promise what we cannot sustain. We plan the support with the person and, where they want it, with their family, and we look at the plan again whenever circumstances shift.
