We are Precedo Health Care, a home care provider covering Dronfield and the surrounding parts of Derbyshire along with the Sheffield area. We support older people, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and younger adults in their own homes. Our starting point with any new person is a proper conversation, usually at their kitchen table and usually with family there if that is wanted. We want to know what the difficulties actually are, what somebody still wants to do for themselves, and what a good day looks like. Only then do we talk about visit times and tasks. A plan written without that conversation tends to describe a generic person rather than a real one. Day to day we help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility, household jobs, appointments and companionship. For people living with dementia we keep the same small team visiting and hold to consistent times, because familiarity does more for confidence than any amount of reassurance. For adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, we take our lead from the routines and preferences that already work and we give plenty of notice before anything changes. We stay in touch with families and with GPs, district nurses and social workers, and we flag changes early rather than waiting to be asked. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We are pleased with that and we keep asking the people we visit whether we are living up to it.
