We are Sunrise Care Providers, based in Derby and supporting people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding county. We work with older people and people living with dementia, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to manage at home. Home care only works if it fits the life it is meant to support, so we begin with a visit and a proper conversation rather than a standard offer. We want to understand what a person can still do and wants to keep doing, what has genuinely become hard, and how they would prefer to be helped. The plan follows from that and changes as circumstances do. Support might be a short morning call, several visits across the day covering personal care, medication, meals and household tasks, or something more substantial where somebody needs a steady presence to remain safely at home. Wherever a person can still do something for themselves, we support them to carry on rather than taking it over. We keep the same carers going to the same households as far as the rota allows, train our staff for the work they are sent to do, and stay reachable when families need to speak to somebody.
