Our reason for doing home care rather than anything else is straightforward. Home is where the routines make sense, where you know where everything is, and where you are still the person who decides. Support that keeps somebody there is usually worth a great deal more than support that moves them somewhere unfamiliar. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home. We want to know how the day runs now, what has become difficult, who else is involved and what would make the biggest difference. From there we agree the visits, which might be one short call a day, several calls, or longer stretches so that a family carer can get out of the house properly. We expect to adjust the plan, because needs rarely hold still. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard to send the same carers to the same homes. A carer who knows somebody well is also the one who notices first when something has changed. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather tell you that plainly, and we are happy to answer anything you want to ask about how we work.
