About Home Care Direct
Home Care Direct arranges care and support for people in their own homes in Chesterfield and across Derbyshire. We do one thing, which is home care, and we think that focus is worth something. People come to us because they want to carry on living where they are, with their own belongings and their own way of doing things, helped enough to make that work. Our job is to provide that help without taking the household over. Everything begins with a visit and an unhurried conversation. What does the day look like now, what has become difficult, and what does the person want to keep doing for themselves. From that we agree what support will happen, when and who will provide it, involving family or an advocate whenever somebody wants them there. Support can be short visits for personal care and medication, help with meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping and errands, getting to appointments, or longer periods of company for people whose days have become very quiet. We are stubborn about consistency. The same small team, arriving when we said and staying for the time agreed, is the whole difference between care that helps and care that is simply endured.
