We are GoodOaks Homecare in Poole, and we support people across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to stay living in their own homes. Home is where routines make sense, where the kettle is in the right place and the neighbours know your name, and we think a great deal of care goes into keeping that intact rather than replacing it. Our work covers a wide range. We support older people, including many living with dementia, where consistency and a calm approach matter more than anything else. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, and younger adults who want to build independence rather than have it managed for them. We support people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, helping with mobility, personal care, medication, meals, shopping and getting out and about. Visits are arranged around the person. Some people need half an hour in the morning to get the day going. Others need several calls a day, or longer sessions so that a family carer can get out of the house. We agree the plan with the person first, and we change it when life changes, which it does.
