About Age UK

We are Age UK Bournemouth, providing care and support to people in their own homes across the town and the surrounding area. We work with older people and people living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Supporting older people is what we know and what we are set up for, and that focus shapes how we work. We understand how quickly confidence can go after a fall, how isolating it becomes when getting out of the house stops being straightforward, and how much difference a reliable visit makes to somebody who might otherwise speak to nobody from one day to the next. Support ranges from a short daily call through to several visits covering personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and help getting out and about. Wherever a person can still manage something themselves, we support them to keep doing it, because independence lost unnecessarily is very hard to get back. We keep the same carers going to the same people as far as we can, train our staff properly for the work they do, and stay in contact with district nurses, GPs and social workers where they are involved. Nothing starts until we have visited and talked it through. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to discuss what would help.
