About Dana Care

Dana Care provides care and support to older people in their own homes in Poole and the surrounding area. We do one thing, which is helping older people to carry on living where they want to live. People come to us because the day has become harder to manage than it was, and what they want is enough help to make home workable rather than a move nobody has chosen. We try to provide exactly that and no more, because doing things for somebody that they can still do themselves takes something away from them. Everything begins with a visit and an unhurried conversation. What does the day look like now, what has become difficult, what would somebody rather keep doing for themselves. From that we agree who comes, when and what they do, with family involved whenever the person wants them there. Visits can cover personal care, help with medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping and errands, getting to appointments, and company for people whose days have become very quiet. Company is not an extra in our view, and we do not treat it as one. We keep the team around each person small and we are strict about timekeeping, because waiting in for somebody who does not arrive as promised is genuinely distressing. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please give us a ring if you would like to talk things over.
