About Dorset Domiciliary Care Agency

Dorset Domiciliary Care Agency supports people in their own homes in Christchurch and across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. We work with autistic adults and adults with a learning disability, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who want support that fits round their life rather than replacing it. Our starting point is what the person is trying to do. For some that means help with the practical business of running a home, cooking, budgeting, appointments and paperwork. For others it means someone alongside them to get out to college, work, the gym or the coast, or a steady familiar presence in situations that would otherwise be overwhelming. We agree the plan with the person, put it in writing in a form they can use, and revisit it as things move on. Consistency is what makes this work. We keep the team going to a household small, we give plenty of notice when someone regular is away, and we train staff to communicate in whatever way actually reaches the person. We work alongside families, social workers and health colleagues, and we would rather be told bluntly when we have got something wrong. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking into support at home locally, please ring and we will come out and talk it through.
