About Bourne-Citizen
We are Bourne Citizen, a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Bournemouth and the surrounding area. Our work is about keeping people in charge of their own lives, in their own surroundings, with support attached only to the parts that have become difficult. The people we visit include people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health, people with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss. Support ranges from a short daily call to longer visits and regular support over many months, and it might mean help with personal care and medication, cooking and household routines, getting out to appointments, work or college, or simply somebody reliable in the week who notices how a person is doing. We plan support with the person and in the way that suits them, which means using whatever form of communication works best and giving decisions proper time rather than rushing to a signature. Where families and advocates are involved, they are involved because the person wants them to be. Continuity matters more than almost anything else in this work, so we keep the same familiar workers with the same people wherever the rota allows. If a visit time or a particular match is not working, we want to be told and we will change it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk through what support at home could look like.
