About Limetree House Upper Poppleton
Limetree House Upper Poppleton is a residential care home for older people, just outside York. We support people who can no longer manage safely at home and would rather not be on their own, and we also offer respite stays, either as a planned break for a family carer or while somebody recovers after illness or a hospital admission. We are a residential home, so what we provide is daily life supported properly. Help with washing, dressing, mobility and medication, given at each person's own pace. Meals cooked here and served at sociable hours. Laundry and housekeeping taken off people's hands. Staff on hand through the night as well as the day. When health needs arise we work with the local general practice, district nurses and therapists so that people are seen promptly and, wherever possible, without having to leave the home. Residents bring their own furniture and pictures where there is room, decide when to get up and how to spend the day, and see visitors whenever it suits them. Many of the people who live here have long connections with York and the villages around it, and we support them to keep those going, whether that is church, an old friend, a walk or the local news.
