About Stoneleigh Home
We are Stoneleigh Home, a residential care home near York caring for older people. Our most recent CQC overall rating is outstanding. We are pleased about that, though the measure we care about more is whether the people who live here are having days worth having. What we provide is residential care done properly rather than anything elaborate. Help with washing, dressing and moving about safely. Support with medication. Food worth sitting down to. Warm rooms, and company for those who want it. The home is run around the people in it. Nobody is woken to suit a rota. Breakfast is when somebody comes down rather than a fixed event. Some residents like the lounge and the conversation that fills it, others prefer their own room, and both are perfectly reasonable ways to spend a day. Our staff stay long enough to know people properly, which is how you notice that somebody is quieter than usual or eating less before it turns into something more serious. We keep families in the picture and would far rather make an early call about a small worry than a difficult one later. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them. We offer respite stays alongside permanent places, which helps family carers who need a break and people building their strength back after hospital. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a visit.
