Here at Friends Place, we provide residential care for a range of people across our home in Reading, West Berkshire. We welcome older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, as well as those managing a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. Whether someone moves in with us on a permanent basis or comes to us for a short respite stay, we aim to make sure they feel genuinely at home from the moment they arrive. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. Our team takes time to get to know each resident as an individual, understanding their routines, preferences, and what matters most to them in daily life. Good care, in our view, is built on trust and familiarity, and we work hard to foster both. For those living with dementia, we recognise how important a calm, familiar and supportive environment can be. We approach dementia care thoughtfully, keeping people connected to the things and people they love while offering the right level of support as needs change over time. Our respite care is equally important to us. We know that for some families, a short stay is a chance to rest and recharge, and we want people to feel just as settled and looked after during a brief visit as they would if they were with us long term. We are based in Reading, which means residents can stay connected to their local community, with family and friends able to visit easily. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and we welcome any questions from prospective residents or their families.
