About Hollywood Rest Home
Hollywood Rest Home is a residential care home in Grays. We support older people needing help with daily living, including those living with dementia and those living with mental health conditions, and we also support some younger adults and people working through problems with alcohol or drugs. Our care is practical and personal. We help people wash and dress, we manage medication properly, we cook here and we make sure nobody is left alone with a difficult day unless solitude is what they want. The house is meant to feel domestic rather than clinical, and we think the ordinariness of that matters. Supporting people with mental health needs, or people in recovery, comes down to consistency and an absence of judgement. We learn what a hard stretch looks like for each person, we keep good working relationships with GPs and community teams and we stay steady when things are not going well. For residents living with dementia we keep routines and faces familiar and lean on what families tell us about a person's history. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families in Thurrock are welcome to visit. Please ring and we will arrange a time.
