About Poplars
Poplars is a residential care home in Horley. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and many of the people living here are younger adults. That last point shapes how we work. Somebody in their twenties or thirties has a long life ahead, and care that keeps a person safe but idle is not good enough. So we start by learning how each person communicates and what they actually want from their week, and we build the support around that. For some that means plenty going on outside the house, work, college, friends and getting out locally. For others it means a quieter household with support close at hand. Both are proper answers. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a real break and give the person staying a change of scene with support they can trust. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own standards under review between inspections rather than waiting to be assessed again. If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone in your family, please get in touch. You are very welcome to visit, meet the team and see how the house runs day to day.
