About Linden House
Linden House is a residential care home in Epsom, Surrey. We provide care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our aim is that this feels like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. Residents bring their own furniture and belongings, keep their own routines and decide how the day goes. We provide help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and getting about, and we are careful to give only as much as is wanted. Doing too much for somebody is as much a failure of care as doing too little. Dementia care is a substantial part of our work. We take time to learn each person's history, their habits and the things that reassure them, because that knowledge is what allows staff to respond to the feeling behind a difficult moment rather than simply to the behaviour. Familiar faces, a calm environment and a predictable rhythm do most of the rest. Respite stays get the same planning and attention as any other admission, whether they are giving a family carer a genuine break or supporting somebody through recovery after a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat that as a sound foundation rather than a finishing line. You are very welcome to visit Linden House and see the home on an ordinary day rather than a prepared one.
