About Mills Meadow
Mills Meadow is a residential care home in Woodbridge in Suffolk. We care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we welcome respite guests as well as people moving in permanently. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of it and we are clear that it describes the work of the people on shift rather than anything written in a brochure. It is also not a finished job, so we keep asking residents and families what is working and what is not, and we act on what comes back. What the rating reflects, we think, is consistency and time. Staff who stay long enough to know people properly. A day arranged around the people living here rather than around the rota. Rooms that are genuinely personal. Visitors welcome without ceremony. Help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and mobility given in a way that leaves somebody their dignity. For people living with dementia, that continuity does more than any planned activity. A familiar face, a day with a predictable shape, and time to sit with somebody who is anxious rather than move them along. We ask families to tell us about a person's history, because it is nearly always what helps us understand what they are asking for. Respite guests get the same care as anyone living here. Please come and see us, meet the team and talk to families of people already living here.
